![]() BackfromSweep.JPG This is a picture of me right after returning from a "Sweep". |
![]() BreakingTheRules.JPG In this photo I was a Squadleader E-5. I was supposed to be supervising but usually got bored and pitched in. The Army believes you can't both work and supervise so what I was doing was against the rules. |
![]() ChangeOfCommandCampSchmidt.JPG This was one of the occasions when the "band" really was a BAND. We were providing music for a change of command ceremony for one of the 4th Inf. Div. Brigades. I can't remember the fire base we were at, probably "Highlander Heights" near Anh Khe. |
![]() DoubleExposure.JPG Whoa! Where did my head go? This was an attempt to do a deliberate double exposure to put my picture over "Signal Hill" which was the home of the communications guys on our main base, Camp Enari. |
![]() InMyCadreRoom.JPG This is me in my "cadre room". I was an E-5 Squadleader and had my own little closet size room in our barracks. The barracks had a cement floor, plywood walls half way up and screen wire the rest of the way. The roof was tin. There was a "blast wall" of sandbags about waist high around the outside. You can see my Flak Jacket, and Ammo Belt and my Helmet ready for use a chair to the right. |
![]() SomeOfTheGuys.JPG These were some of the guys in the band. From left to right: Dan King was a trumpet player, Frank Bearden played tuba in, and Me flutist, "Jeff" George Franklin Gore played Euphonium in the band. Photo was in his living area. |
